Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate all operations of a skilled nursing facility to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and effective staffing and services.
- • Direct, supervise, and evaluate work of nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and administrative staff.
- • Set facility goals and performance metrics for resident care, safety, satisfaction, and operations.
- • Oversee recruitment, credentialing, scheduling, and training of staff, including agency personnel.
- • Manage electronic health records and reporting systems, including MDS and quality measures dashboards.
- • Develop, implement, and enforce facility policies and procedures aligned with CMS and state regulations.
- • Lead budgeting, accounting, revenue cycle, and financial reporting; monitor payer mix and case-mix indices.
- • Establish staffing plans and assignments based on census, acuity, and regulatory requirements.
- • Liaise with governing board, medical director, DON, and department heads; lead interdisciplinary meetings.
- • Monitor utilization of beds, therapies, and ancillary services; plan for equipment and staffing needs.
- • Stay current on long-term care regulations, reimbursement changes, infection control guidance, and technology.
- • Lead change initiatives for care models, technology adoption, and process improvement (QAPI).
- • Prepare operational, financial, and quality reports for owners, regulators, and stakeholders; ensure survey readiness.
- • Plan and administer resident care and support programs; coordinate admissions, discharge planning, nursing, rehab, activities, and plant operations.
- • Engage residents, families, and community partners to address concerns, promote programs, and build referrals.
- • Inspect the facility and direct maintenance to ensure life-safety, emergency preparedness, and sanitation compliance.
- • Analyze clinical and operational data to improve outcomes, manage risk, and optimize census and length of stay.
- • Develop and expand programs such as memory care, short-term rehab, and community health education.
- • Create training materials and conduct in-service education on compliance, safety, and resident rights.
