Description
Conduct in-person surveys at homes and community sites to collect accurate data for research or programs. Follow protocols, obtain consent, record responses on tablets or forms, verify sampled units, manage appointments and field logistics, and protect confidentiality.
- • Travel to assigned areas and locate sampled addresses or individuals using maps, GPS, and field lists.
- • Introduce the study, explain objectives and confidentiality, and obtain informed consent.
- • Ask standardized questions per script and accurately record responses on mobile devices or forms.
- • Assist respondents in completing questionnaires and clarify items when needed.
- • Verify respondent eligibility and roster household members when required.
- • Probe to resolve incomplete, unclear, or inconsistent answers.
- • Review completed cases for accuracy, completeness, and proper skip patterns.
- • Code responses as needed and submit or upload data daily.
- • Schedule appointments, callbacks, and return visits to improve response rates.
- • Maintain detailed call records, case notes, and disposition codes.
- • Apply refusal conversion and nonresponse follow-up techniques professionally.
- • Identify and report field issues, safety concerns, or instrument problems to supervisors.
- • Safeguard respondent privacy and handle materials per security protocols.
- • Meet regularly with supervisors to submit work, receive assignments, and discuss progress.
- • Locate, list, and verify addresses and households for sample frame updates.
- • May mentor new field staff and assist with quality control checks.
