Description
Conduct door-to-door and phone interviews to collect census and survey data from assigned households. Follow standardized questionnaires, verify addresses, record accurate responses on paper or electronic devices, assist with self-response when needed, and ensure data completeness, timeliness, and confidentiality.
- • Canvass assigned areas to locate and list addresses and housing units using maps or address lists.
- • Contact households by door-to-door visits, phone, or mail to schedule and conduct interviews.
- • Explain survey purpose, confidentiality, and procedures to respondents.
- • Ask standardized questions and probe as needed to obtain complete, accurate responses.
- • Record and code responses in secure electronic systems or on paper forms.
- • Review completed cases for completeness, consistency, and eligibility rules.
- • Resolve discrepancies or unclear answers through follow-up questions or callbacks.
- • Document nonresponse reasons and make required contact attempts per protocol.
- • Maintain case notes, status updates, timesheets, and daily production reports.
- • Protect respondent privacy and handle materials according to confidentiality policies.
- • Submit completed interviews and materials; debrief with supervisor on progress and issues.
- • Report address problems, coverage errors, safety concerns, and barriers to data collection.
- • Update address lists and maps to reflect new, duplicate, vacant, or ineligible units.
- • Assist respondents in understanding and completing questionnaires when self-response is used.
- • Support training or mentoring of new enumerators when assigned.
