Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of one or more event venues, overseeing event delivery, guest services, facilities, and revenue-generating departments. Responsibilities include setting policies, managing daily bookings and operations, budgeting and staffing, vendor and client relations, compliance and safety, and optimal use of materials and human resources, typically through subordinate supervisors; excludes first-line supervisors.
- • Direct and coordinate front-of-house, back-of-house, sales, and facilities teams to deliver events and venue services.
- • Oversee guest services during events, including ticketing, box office, accessibility, and resolution of guest issues.
- • Develop and implement venue marketing, event calendars, and promotional partnerships to drive bookings and attendance.
- • Direct departments such as marketing, ticketing, concessions, and procurement.
- • Recommend capital improvements and oversee renovations, fit-outs, and technology or seating upgrades.
- • Plan room configurations, seating charts, signage, and wayfinding to optimize guest experience and revenue.
- • Implement sustainability programs for events, including waste diversion, energy, and water management.
- • Review P&Ls, event settlements, and KPIs to assess performance and identify cost savings or revenue opportunities.
- • Direct administrative activities for booking, contracting, invoicing, and service delivery.
- • Prepare event calendars and staffing plans; approve schedules for security, ushers, concessions, and operations.
- • Manage vendors and service providers (AV, catering, cleaning, security) to meet SLAs, quality, and budget.
- • Direct budgeting, forecasting, cash handling, and inventory controls to meet revenue targets and control costs.
- • Establish venue policies, SOPs, and emergency procedures in coordination with owners, officials, and staff.
- • Ensure compliance with health, safety, liquor, occupancy, and ADA regulations; coordinate inspections and permits.
- • Recruit, train, and evaluate supervisors and key staff; oversee contractor credentialing and onboarding.
- • Develop and execute event safety, security, and crowd management plans with law enforcement and stakeholders.
- • Oversee load-in/load-out logistics, storage, and back-of-house traffic to ensure safe, efficient operations.
