Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations of a manufacturing plant, overseeing production, maintenance, quality, and logistics across shifts. Develop policies, allocate labor and materials, control budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance and safe work practices while driving continuous improvement. Manage through subordinate supervisors to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- • Direct and coordinate production, maintenance, quality, and shipping/receiving to meet plant goals.
- • Review production reports, OEE, scrap, and downtime to track performance and drive corrective actions.
- • Prepare and manage staffing plans, shift schedules, and work assignments across departments.
- • Establish and enforce plant policies, standard work, and operating procedures.
- • Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance and contractor activities.
- • Coordinate materials planning, inventory control, and supplier performance within budget.
- • Direct plant budgeting and cost control to meet financial targets and improve efficiency.
- • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce waste.
- • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and customer requirements; lead inspections and audits.
- • Implement and oversee EHS programs, including incident investigations and hazard mitigation.
- • Collaborate with engineering on process changes, new equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
- • Manage production scheduling and capacity planning based on demand and customer priorities.
- • Oversee quality systems, corrective actions, and root-cause analyses to meet specifications.
- • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales to support order fulfillment and on-time delivery.
- • Recommend plant layout changes and capital projects; supervise remodeling, commissioning, or expansion.
- • Monitor and improve workforce performance through hiring, training, coaching, and evaluations.
- • Manage inbound and outbound material flow and warehouse operations to optimize throughput.
