Description
Supervise and coordinate resident care staff in assisted living or long-term care settings, ensuring person-centered services, safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality daily living support.
- • Create and adjust care staff schedules based on resident acuity and staffing needs to ensure timely, high-quality care.
- • Inspect resident rooms, common areas, and care equipment for cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- • Train care staff in ADL assistance, infection control, dementia care, emergency procedures, and facility policies.
- • Observe and evaluate staff interactions and care delivery to ensure dignity, care plan adherence, and service standards.
- • Meet with nursing leadership and administrators to review care plans, documentation quality, and operational changes.
- • Brief staff on individual care preferences, dietary needs, mobility limits, and behavioral considerations.
- • Address and resolve resident and family complaints regarding care or services.
- • Order and manage care supplies and equipment, including PPE, hygiene items, and mobility aids.
- • Coach, document, and implement corrective or disciplinary actions to address performance issues.
- • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring resident care staff.
- • Pursue continuing education on senior care best practices, infection control, and state regulations.
- • Support admissions and family tours by explaining care services, routines, and staffing capabilities.
- • Use resident and family feedback and quality metrics to drive service and process improvements.
- • Coordinate staff breaks and shift coverage to maintain required staffing levels and ratios.
- • Direct and coordinate daily activities of resident care aides, CNAs, and support staff, ensuring timely and accurate charting.
- • Escalate safety incidents, changes in condition, or staffing gaps to nursing or management promptly.
- • Investigate employee complaints and resident incidents in accordance with facility policies and reporting requirements.
