Description
Supervise and coordinate aquatics staff and facility operations to ensure patron safety, program quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- • Assign lifeguard posts, lesson rosters, and shifts to ensure safe coverage and on-time programs.
- • Inspect pools, decks, and locker rooms; test and log water chemistry; ensure cleanliness and equipment readiness.
- • Train staff in EAPs, water rescue, CPR/AED, customer service, and facility policies.
- • Observe and evaluate vigilance, teaching quality, and appearance to ensure compliance and service standards.
- • Meet with management and maintenance to coordinate schedules, repairs, and operational changes.
- • Brief staff on patron needs, swim levels, accessibility requirements, and group reservations.
- • Resolve patron complaints about safety, lessons, staff conduct, or facility conditions.
- • Requisition chemicals, first-aid supplies, uniforms, rescue gear, and lesson equipment.
- • Coach staff and administer corrective or disciplinary action per policy.
- • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard lifeguards, instructors, and attendants.
- • Maintain own certifications and schedule staff in-service trainings and recertifications.
- • Coordinate marketing and outreach for swim lessons, memberships, and aquatics programs.
- • Use patron feedback and incident data to improve safety, programs, and service.
- • Plan rotations and breaks to maintain uninterrupted zone coverage and patron supervision.
- • Direct daily aquatics operations during open swim, lessons, rentals, and events.
- • Report incidents, near-misses, equipment failures, and personnel issues to management.
- • Investigate staff complaints and workplace incidents; document and resolve per regulations.
