Description
Supervise and coordinate child care staff to deliver safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate care while meeting licensing, health, and program standards.
- • Assign staff schedules based on child-staff ratios and program needs to ensure continuous, safe coverage.
- • Inspect classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, and playgrounds for cleanliness, safety, and licensing compliance.
- • Train staff in supervision, curriculum implementation, health and safety, emergency procedures, and center policies.
- • Observe and evaluate staff-child interactions and performance to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- • Meet with directors and other supervisors to review policy updates, enrollment changes, and operational needs.
- • Inform staff about individual care plans, allergies, IEPs, medical needs, and family preferences.
- • Resolve parent or guardian complaints regarding care, communication, or services provided.
- • Requisition supplies and equipment, such as diapers, food, learning materials, and cleaning products.
- • Administer coaching and disciplinary actions to address performance or conduct issues.
- • Recruit, interview, and hire teachers, aides, and substitute staff.
- • Participate in professional development on early childhood best practices and regulatory changes.
- • Support enrollment and family engagement efforts, including tours, events, and community outreach.
- • Use parent feedback and child outcomes to guide service and curriculum improvements.
- • Arrange breaks and classroom coverage to maintain required ratios throughout each shift.
- • Direct and coordinate teachers, aides, floaters, and support staff across classrooms and age groups.
- • Inform management about incidents, staffing shortages, facility issues, and employee disputes.
- • Investigate staff concerns and incidents and resolve them in accordance with policy and licensing rules.
