Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate student registration, academic records, curriculum catalog maintenance, class scheduling, and degree certification for a postsecondary institution; ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, and service quality; optimize use of student information systems and classroom space while collaborating across campus to implement academic policies and support student progress.
- • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, terminate registrar’s office staff.
- • Develop, administer, and monitor the registrar’s office budget and produce financial reports.
- • Represent the registrar’s office at campus events, accreditation reviews, and professional meetings.
- • Serve on institutional committees related to academic policy, curriculum, and student success.
- • Provide guidance to faculty and staff on registration, grading, academic policy, and classroom scheduling.

- • Manage transfer credit evaluation and articulation in consultation with academic departments.
- • Oversee degree certification and graduation processes; confer degrees and coordinate commencement data.
- • Develop and enforce registration and academic standing policies with faculty governance.
- • Analyze enrollment and registration statistics to inform policy and operational improvements.
- • Coordinate production and distribution of catalogs, class schedules, registration guides, and academic deadlines.
- • Implement and optimize the student information system and related technologies; ensure data integrity and security.
- • Produce required internal and external reports, including census, IPEDS, state, and accreditation submissions.
- • Support student and advisor inquiries regarding records, degree progress, residency, and academic policies.
- • Train campus users on registration, records, FERPA, and student information system processes.
- • Develop and maintain records retention, privacy, and business continuity plans.
- • Collaborate with admissions, advising, and financial aid to support enrollment and student success.
- • Resolve student appeals related to records, residency, withdrawals, and academic exceptions per policy.
- • Monitor and improve service levels, processing cycle times, and error rates using metrics and audits.
