Description
Serve as the chief academic officer, leading institutional academic strategy, instruction, research, and student success across all colleges and programs; direct academic policies, budgets, accreditation, and faculty affairs to advance the university’s mission.
- • Set the academic vision and strategic plans in alignment with institutional goals.
- • Lead deans and academic units; direct and evaluate academic administration staff.
- • Recruit, appoint, develop, and, when necessary, terminate senior academic personnel; oversee faculty hiring, promotion, and tenure.
- • Establish and enforce academic policies and procedures using data and research.
- • Plan and allocate academic budgets; oversee financial performance and reporting for academic affairs.
- • Oversee curriculum development, program review, and approval of new programs and delivery modalities.
- • Ensure assessment of student learning outcomes and continuous improvement processes.

- • Direct admissions and enrollment policies in collaboration with enrollment management.

- • Lead accreditation and regulatory compliance; serve as primary liaison to accrediting and licensing bodies.
- • Oversee research, graduate education, and scholarly initiatives, including compliance and infrastructure.
- • Champion faculty development, teaching excellence, and inclusive academic practices.
- • Oversee academic integrity policies and adjudicate escalated academic misconduct cases.
- • Guide student success strategies, including advising frameworks, retention, and degree progression policies.
- • Oversee policies and allocation for academic scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships.
- • Represent the institution at academic, community, and governmental forums; build external partnerships.
- • Support fundraising for academic priorities and cultivate alumni, industry, and foundation relationships.
- • Approve and coordinate production of official academic publications such as catalogs and academic calendars.
- • Lead academic data reporting and analytics; prepare reports for boards, accreditors, and regulators.
- • Chair or participate in key academic committees and shared-governance bodies.
- • Oversee online, continuing, and global education initiatives and ensure program quality.
- • Guide institutional grant strategy for academic units and monitor major grant-funded projects.
- • Coordinate cross-campus academic events, symposia, and recognition programs.
- • Develop MOUs and articulation agreements with secondary schools and partner institutions.
- • Lead academic continuity, risk management, and crisis response planning.
