Description
Operate stationary tower cranes on construction sites to hoist and place materials and equipment at height, following load charts and signals to ensure safe, precise, and efficient lifts.
- • Verify load weights against the tower crane load chart and radius to prevent overload.
- • Operate hoist, trolley, and swing controls to lift, move, and place loads with precision.
- • Conduct pre-shift inspections of wire ropes, hook block, sheaves, limit switches, and safety devices.
- • Monitor and use load moment indicators, anti-collision systems, and wind instrumentation during operations.
- • Inspect slings, shackles, spreader bars, and hooks for defects and confirm proper rigging before lifting.
- • Clean the cab, perform routine lubrication per procedures, and report defects for maintenance.
- • Coordinate with riggers, signalers, and ground crew via radio or hand signals to execute lifts safely.
- • Lift materials from trucks or laydown areas and place them at designated floors, decks, or zones.
- • Review lift plans, site logistics, and daily schedules to sequence picks efficiently.
- • Maintain lift logs, equipment checklists, and incident reports per company and regulatory requirements.
- • Secure the crane after operations, including parking the trolley and hook, weather-vaning, and applying lockout/tagout when needed.
