Process customer purchases at the point of sale by scanning items, computing totals, applying discounts, and accepting payments; issue receipts, bag merchandise, and provide basic assistance with questions or returns while maintaining an accurate, secure, and clean checkout area.
  • • Record transactions, voids, and overrides following approval procedures.
  • • Scan items, weigh produce, and compute totals with taxes.
  • • Process cash, card, mobile, EBT, and gift card payments; make change and issue receipts.
  • • Apply coupons, discounts, and loyalty rewards accurately.
  • • Verify prices, perform price checks, and correct discrepancies.
  • • Bag merchandise safely and efficiently; manage bagging supplies.
  • • Greet customers and provide courteous checkout assistance.
  • • Answer basic product or policy questions; refer complex issues to supervisors.
  • • Process returns, exchanges, and gift receipts per policy.
  • • Check identification to verify age for restricted items.
  • • Balance cash drawer and reconcile end-of-shift paperwork.
  • • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area.
  • • Monitor self-checkout stations and assist customers as needed.
