Description
Conduct workplace and construction site safety inspections to identify hazards, verify compliance with OSHA, fire, and company standards, and recommend corrective actions. Apply technical knowledge to assess equipment, processes, and environments and document findings.
  • • Inspect workplaces, construction sites, and operations for compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local safety codes.
  • • Maintain daily inspection logs and photo documentation of hazards and abatement.
  • • Review safety plans, job hazard analyses, safety data sheets, blueprints, and method statements for regulatory compliance.
  • • Monitor site activities to enforce PPE use, fall protection, scaffolding, and ladder safety.
  • • Verify machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety for equipment and temporary power.
  • • Check fire protection, egress, hot work controls, and housekeeping for general safety.
  • • Issue and manage permit-to-work systems such as hot work and confined space entry.
  • • Oversee installation and use of equipment to ensure safe practices and compliance.
  • • Train workers and supervisors on safety procedures and conduct toolbox talks.
  • • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments for air quality, noise, heat stress, and chemical exposure.
  • • Evaluate projects and tasks to ensure controls meet environmental health and safety regulations.
  • • Inspect facilities for ergonomic risks, trip hazards, and other occupational hazards.
  • • Monitor operations to prevent spills, releases, or other EHS violations.
  • • Sample and test air with gas detectors and collect noise, dust, and vapor measurements.
  • • Use meters, tape measures, and test equipment to verify guardrail heights, clearances, and safe conditions.
  • • Confer with management, contractors, and employees to explain requirements and recommend corrective actions.
  • • Review and approve site-specific safety plans, method statements, and lift plans that meet requirements.
  • • Inspect cranes, hoists, rigging, and lifting operations to ensure safe condition and use.
  • • Estimate costs and timelines for corrective actions, abatement, or safety improvements.
  • • Audit sanitation, pest control, and waste handling as part of overall workplace safety.
