Description
Inspect civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical work to verify engineering integrity, code compliance, and adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards on construction and infrastructure projects.
- • Inspect bridges, roads, utilities, buildings, and related systems during and after construction for quality, safety, and code compliance.
- • Maintain daily inspection logs and supplement records with photographs and field notes.
- • Review and interpret plans, blueprints, specifications, submittals, and construction methods for compliance with regulations.
- • Monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, engineering specifications, and applicable codes.
- • Measure dimensions and verify grades, levels, alignment, and elevations to confirm conformance to plans.
- • Issue or recommend permits and approvals for construction, utility work, demolition, relocation, or occupancy within authority.
- • Monitor installation of civil utilities and MEP systems to ensure proper methods and regulatory compliance.

- • Verify field and laboratory tests of materials (e.g., soil compaction, concrete, asphalt, welds) for conformance to specifications.
- • Conduct inspections using survey instruments, meters, gauges, nondestructive testing, and other test equipment.
- • Confer with contractors, owners, and authorities to explain requirements and recommend corrective actions.
- • Approve or recommend approval of plans, shop drawings, and method statements that meet specifications and codes.
- • Examine temporary works, cranes, scaffolds, shoring, and traffic control devices for safe and proper setup.
- • Estimate costs for corrective work, repairs, or upgrades based on inspection findings.
- • Verify site housekeeping, material storage, and waste management meet project and regulatory requirements.
