Description
Teach adult learners in basic education, high school equivalency, English language acquisition, citizenship, digital literacy, and workforce readiness below the baccalaureate level. Provide instruction to adults who have left or completed high school in community colleges, adult schools, correctional, or community-based programs.
  • • Supervise and monitor learners' use of computers, lab resources, and classroom technology.
  • • Assess incoming students to identify skill levels, goals, and instructional needs.
  • • Observe and evaluate student work to track progress and provide targeted feedback.
  • • Present lessons and facilitate discussions using visual aids and multimedia.
  • • Administer placement, formative, and summative tests to measure learning and program effectiveness.
  • • Maintain accurate records of attendance, contact hours, progress, and outcomes for reporting.
  • • Guide independent and group projects, contextualized learning, or service-learning activities.
  • • Provide individualized, small-group, and remedial instruction.
  • • Develop and adapt curricula aligned to adult education standards and learner goals.
  • • Create course outlines, syllabi, and learning objectives; plan instructional schedules.
  • • Integrate literacy, numeracy, digital skills, and workforce readiness into instruction.
  • • Develop and curate instructional materials, LMS content, and multimedia resources.
  • • Select and manage textbooks, manipulatives, supplies, and technology for classes and labs.
  • • Advise students on class placement, high school equivalency options, and college or career pathways.
  • • Participate in professional development and implement evidence-based adult learning practices.
  • • Serve on program or school committees for curriculum, assessment, and compliance.
  • • Conduct orientation, intake, and placement; communicate with applicants and referrals.
  • • Coordinate guest speakers, employer panels, or community resource presentations.
  • • Maintain classroom technology and learning lab equipment; request repairs or replacements.
  • • Coordinate with case managers, counselors, and workforce partners to support student transitions.
