Description
Inspect, repair, and replace automotive glass and related components, perform chip repairs and ADAS camera calibrations, and ensure safe, leak-free installations that meet OEM and AGRSS standards.
  • • Inspect windshields, side, rear, and quarter glass for chips, cracks, and fitment issues.
  • • Perform stone chip repairs using resin injection and UV curing.
  • • Remove damaged glass, moldings, cowls, and trim without damaging vehicle surfaces.
  • • Prepare pinchwelds by cutting out old urethane, cleaning, treating rust, and applying primers.
  • • Install replacement windshields, back glass, door glass, and quarter glass with urethane adhesives.
  • • Set glass using vacuum cups and setting devices to achieve proper alignment and reveal.
  • • Reinstall and align moldings, weatherstrips, wiper arms, mirror mounts, and sensors.
  • • Calibrate ADAS front camera and related sensors after windshield replacement per OEM procedures.
  • • Perform static and dynamic calibrations using targets and scan tools; clear related DTCs.
  • • Conduct water and air leak tests and correct wind noise and seepage.
  • • Diagnose and repair door glass movement issues by servicing regulators, tracks, and run channels.
  • • Replace and adjust window regulators, motors, switches, and glass stops as needed.
  • • Test and repair rear defroster grids and tabs; reconnect wiring and verify operation.
  • • Replace sunroof and moonroof glass panels, seals, and drains; adjust tracks and test for leaks.
  • • Select correct parts using NAGS catalogs and vehicle build data; verify options such as HUD, rain sensor, and acoustic layers.
  • • Provide repair estimates and safe drive-away times; explain work and warranties to customers.
  • • Process work orders and insurance claims; document materials, lot numbers, and calibrations performed.
  • • Follow adhesive manufacturer specs for bead size, open time, and cure; verify safe drive-away criteria.
  • • Protect vehicle interiors and finishes with covers and tape; maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • • Perform pre- and post-repair electronic scans as required; initialize rain and light sensors.
  • • Maintain and operate mobile service vehicles; manage inventory of glass, adhesives, and tools.
  • • Use cut-out tools such as cold knives, fiber line, and oscillating tools safely.
  • • Clean glass and bonding surfaces with approved cleaners; avoid contamination.
  • • Inspect body apertures for damage or corrosion and refer structural issues to body repair.
  • • Adhere to AGRSS/ANSI, OEM, and DOT glazing standards and company safety policies.
  • • Dispose of broken glass and chemicals per environmental regulations.
  • • Train and assist junior technicians; follow checklists to ensure quality.
  • • Test drive vehicles when required to complete dynamic calibrations and verify no warnings.
  • • Record measurements and set vehicle centerline and thrust line for target placement.
  • • Communicate with supervisors and customers about findings, timelines, and future service needs.
