Description
Support classroom instruction and student supervision under a certified teacher's direction in preschool through secondary grades. Assist with implementing lessons, managing materials and technology, monitoring student progress, and maintaining a safe, organized learning environment; the teacher retains primary responsibility for program design and delivery.
- • Assist with bus loading and unloading.
- • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
- • Clean and organize classrooms and learning areas.
- • Collect student payments for school projects or activities.
- • Demonstrate and practice skills (e.g., sports, dance, arts and crafts) under teacher guidance.
- • Coordinate duties and schedules with the classroom teacher.
- • Distribute textbooks, workbooks, papers, and supplies.
- • Hand out tests and assignments and collect completed work.
- • Enforce school and classroom rules and procedures.
- • Grade objective items and record results using paper or electronic tools.

- • Present content to students under the teacher's direction using discussions, read-alouds, or guided practice.
- • Requisition, inventory, and restock classroom materials and supplies.
- • Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, gyms, and on field trips.
- • Take attendance and maintain accurate records.
- • Teach and model social skills and positive behaviors.
- • Tutor individuals or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- • Type, file, copy, and organize instructional materials.
- • Use computers and other instructional technology to support lessons.
- • Participate in teacher-parent conferences as requested.
