Description
Support teachers in preschool through secondary classrooms by assisting with instruction, supervision, materials preparation, technology, and assessment. Implement teacher-designed lessons and services under teacher direction; the teacher retains primary responsibility for program design and evaluation.
- • Assist with student arrival and dismissal, including bus loading and unloading.
- • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
- • Clean and organize classrooms and learning areas.
- • Collect and track student payments for school-related projects or activities.
- • Demonstrate skills, such as sports, dance, or crafts, to support instruction.
- • Coordinate daily duties and lesson support with the classroom teacher.
- • Distribute and collect textbooks, workbooks, papers, and supplies.
- • Proctor, distribute, and collect tests and homework.
- • Enforce school and classroom rules and procedures.
- • Grade objective items and record results using paper or electronic tools.
- • Teach and monitor safe use and care of classroom equipment and materials.

- • Observe student performance and behavior and record data to monitor progress.

- • Participate in teacher-family conferences when requested.
- • Plan and assemble teaching aids, such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
- • Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
- • Present content or read aloud under teacher direction using discussions, lectures, or role-play.
- • Requisition, inventory, and restock classroom supplies.
- • Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, gyms, and on field trips.
- • Take attendance and maintain accurate records.
- • Teach and model social skills and classroom routines.
- • Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce instruction and complete assignments.
- • Type, file, scan, and duplicate materials.
- • Use computers, tablets, and audio-visual aids to supplement instruction.
