Description
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair professional audio and RF systems for live, studio, and broadcast use; assemble, test, and calibrate components to ensure reliable, safe, and high-quality sound support.
  • • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot faults in mixers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, intercoms, recorders, and related peripherals.
  • • Install, wire, and rack audio equipment, stage boxes, patch panels, and power distribution per schematics.
  • • Set up, test, and calibrate systems; verify signal flow, gain structure, and noise performance.
  • • Align and tune loudspeaker systems using measurement tools, delay, and EQ.
  • • Configure and maintain wireless audio systems; perform RF scans and frequency coordination.
  • • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and alignment; replace worn parts and consumables.
  • • Solder, crimp, and fabricate custom cables, connectors, and looms; perform cable testing and repair.
  • • Update firmware and software; program DSPs, routers, and control interfaces; back up configurations.
  • • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to execute repairs and builds.
  • • Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and audio analyzers to verify specifications and troubleshoot.
  • • Document maintenance activities, test results, and parts used; maintain service logs and inventory.
  • • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production staff to plan installations and equipment upgrades.
  • • Provide field service during setups and strikes; inspect equipment after events and resolve issues.
  • • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and RF regulations; follow lockout/tagout and rigging practices.
  • • Coordinate vendor repairs and warranty service; source and manage spare parts and tools.
  • • Train users on basic care, handling, and fault reporting for audio equipment.
