Description
Set up and operate studio and location recording systems to capture, edit, and mix high-quality audio for music, voiceover, podcasts, and film/TV, managing signal flow, session data, and deliverables.
  • • Report equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs.
  • • Collaborate with producers, artists, and directors to define session goals and sonic direction.
  • • Select, place, and test microphones, DIs, and preamps for each source.
  • • Configure signal flow, gain staging, and routing on consoles and in the DAW.
  • • Create and manage headphone cue mixes for performers.
  • • Record vocals, instruments, dialogue, and ADR to professional standards.
  • • Monitor and adjust levels, tone, and noise during takes.
  • • Edit, comp, and clean tracks; perform timing alignment and vocal tuning as needed.
  • • Create rough mixes and print reference bounces and stems.
  • • Sync recorded audio to picture for film/TV and ADR sessions.
  • • Maintain detailed session logs, track sheets, and metadata.
  • • Organize, back up, and archive sessions; export files for mixing or post.
  • • Set up, calibrate, and tear down studio and mobile rigs before and after sessions.
  • • Manage MIDI instruments, virtual instruments, and click/tempo maps.
  • • Convert and deliver audio in required formats and sample rates.
