Description
Specialize in blending and balancing multitrack audio to create final mixes for music, film/TV, podcasts, and other media. Use DAWs and consoles to shape tone, dynamics, and space; collaborate with artists and producers; and deliver mix versions and stems to technical specifications.
- • Collaborate with artists, producers, and directors to define the sonic vision and mix goals.
- • Balance levels, tone, and dynamics using EQ, compression, saturation, and automation.
- • Prepare sessions by organizing tracks, routing buses, setting templates, and gain staging.
- • Set up, test, and calibrate monitoring; check mono and phase compatibility.
- • Edit and polish vocals and instruments, including timing and pitch correction as needed.
- • Apply spatial effects such as reverb, delay, and panning to create depth and width.
- • Synchronize dialogue, music, and effects to picture and timecode for screen content.
- • Print and deliver final mixes, instrumentals, TV mixes, and stems to format and loudness specs.
- • Create alternate versions and revisions based on client feedback; maintain recallable sessions.
- • Diagnose and report technical issues with sessions, plugins, or hardware; coordinate fixes.
- • Keep detailed logs, version control, and documentation of mix settings and changes.
- • Convert and conform audio between sample rates, bit depths, and formats for delivery or archiving.
- • Manage session archives and backups; ensure consistent file naming and asset organization.
- • Collaborate with mastering and post teams, providing mix notes, prints, and deliverables.
