Description
Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment to record, mix, edit, synchronize, and reproduce sound for film, television, video, theater, podcasts, sports, and other live or recorded productions.
- • Collaborate with producers, directors, and performers to achieve desired sound.
- • Regulate volume levels and audio quality during sessions using consoles and software.
- • Select, place, and test microphones and signal paths for recordings and live events.
- • Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance.
- • Mix and edit voices, music, and effects for live and prerecorded content.
- • Synchronize and equalize dialogue, music, and effects to picture.
- • Record speech, music, and ambient sound using appropriate recording gear.
- • Duplicate or re-record audio from source media as needed.
- • Isolate and combine tracks during mixing and postproduction.
- • Maintain detailed session logs and metadata.
- • Program and integrate MIDI instruments and controllers.
- • Tear down, pack, and secure audio gear after events.
- • Convert and transcode audio and video to digital formats for editing or archiving.
- • Set up, align, and calibrate recording and live sound systems.
