Description
Design and engineer site-specific photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Perform electrical and structural analyses, model energy production, and deliver permit-ready drawings and specifications that meet NEC, building code, and utility interconnection requirements.
- • Evaluate and specify PV modules, inverters, racking, and balance-of-system components using performance data and certifications.
- • Review drawings and product specifications; recommend design changes to meet performance, cost, and code objectives.
- • Perform electrical calculations, structural loading, shading analysis, and cost optimization for PV systems.
- • Develop design standards, installation SOPs, and QA/QC and safety criteria for PV projects.
- • Design PV array layouts, stringing plans, combiner and rapid-shutdown configurations, and grounding/bonding details.
- • Provide technical direction and field support during installation, start-up, testing, commissioning, and performance checks.
- • Simulate PV energy production and system performance to optimize layout and equipment selection.
- • Develop design specifications, bills of materials, and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial PV systems.
- • Create plans for PV system development, monitoring, performance verification, and O&M.
- • Produce electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and conduit/wiring plans using CAD or BIM tools.
- • Create pre- and post-installation inspection and commissioning checklists.
- • Design or coordinate the design of grid-tied PV systems, including protection, metering, and utility interconnection.
- • Conduct site audits to collect structural, electrical, shading, and permitting data for PV system design.
