Description
Coordinate suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services by expediting orders, resolving delays, and communicating status.
- • Track and expedite purchase orders from release to receipt.
- • Confirm acknowledgments, ship dates, and lead times with suppliers.
- • Monitor inventory and production needs to prioritize critical shortages.
- • Respond to internal and supplier inquiries on order status, changes, or cancellations.
- • Review requisitions and POs for accuracy, terms, and required documentation.
- • Maintain and update expediting logs, ERP status, and delivery schedules.
- • Compare promised vs. actual delivery performance and escalate variances.
- • Issue pull-in, push-out, and cancellation requests as schedules change.
- • Arrange alternate sources, splits, or substitutions when delays occur.
- • Coordinate shipping methods, carriers, and routings to meet required dates.
- • Resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and quality or quantity discrepancies.
- • Track and manage backorders and partial shipments.
- • Verify receiving against POs and specifications and initiate discrepancy claims or RMAs.
- • Prepare and distribute status reports to buyers, planners, and project teams.
- • Follow up on contracts and key supplier milestones, flagging risks.
- • Assess and communicate the impact of delays on cost and schedule.
- • Ensure expediting activities comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- • Support buyers with quote follow-ups and lead-time confirmations.
- • Coordinate inter-plant or inter-warehouse transfers to cover urgent needs.
