Description
Coordinate workplace health and safety programs, collect and analyze safety data, and conduct inspections and hazard assessments. Train employees, ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies, and support incident response and continuous improvement to reduce chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks.
- • Maintain required safety and environmental records, logs, and documentation.
- • Monitor, issue, and oversee use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
- • Calibrate or coordinate calibration of safety monitoring equipment and instruments.
- • Conduct workplace inspections and sampling to identify chemical, biological, physical, and ergonomic hazards.
- • Review and prepare specifications and purchase orders for safety equipment to meet standards.
- • Verify contractor and employee credentials, training, and permits required for work.
- • Deliver safety orientation and training to employees and contractors.
- • Lead or assist incident and near-miss investigations, including interviews and root-cause analysis.
- • Review inspection reports, test results, floor plans, and fire and sanitation records for compliance.
- • Prepare clear incident, audit, and compliance reports for management and regulators.
- • Plan, schedule, and evaluate emergency response and evacuation drills.
- • Maintain daily activity logs and safety metrics dashboards.
- • Coordinate site emergency response during incidents and coordinate with emergency services.
- • Coordinate with regulators, insurers, and community stakeholders on safety matters.
- • Assess risks associated with new equipment, processes, or materials and recommend controls.
- • Monitor occupational and environmental conditions, including air quality and noise.
- • Develop and deliver job hazard analyses and safe work procedures.
- • Verify availability, condition, and proper use of safety equipment, including respirators and hearing protection.
- • Evaluate work refusals or stop-work situations and document determinations.
- • Recommend and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- • Support occupational health programs, exposure monitoring, and medical surveillance coordination.
- • Inspect fire extinguishers, alarms, and suppression systems for readiness.
- • Manage contractor safety, permits to work, and lockout/tagout compliance.
- • Provide safety guidance to supervisors and project teams and promote a strong safety culture.
