Collect and measure workplace exposure and safety data to support occupational health and safety programs. Implement and evaluate controls to reduce chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks in coordination with safety specialists.
- • Maintain required safety and environmental records and documentation.
- • Issue, operate, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
- • Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sampling and monitoring instruments.
- • Conduct workplace monitoring for chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
- • Test for noise, air contaminants, radiation, heat stress, and other exposures.
- • Prepare or review specifications and purchase orders for safety equipment to meet standards.
- • Verify worker training, certifications, and permits required for safe operations.
- • Educate and coach employees on safety procedures and PPE use.
- • Conduct interviews and gather evidence during incident or exposure investigations.
- • Review laboratory results, inspection reports, and facility layouts to inform controls.
- • Prepare investigation and compliance documentation for regulatory or legal review.
- • Plan and conduct emergency response drills and exercises.
- • Maintain daily inspection logs, sampling records, and corrective action trackers.
- • Support site emergency response until first responders assume control.
- • Coordinate with management and regulators to develop or implement safety programs.
- • Collect exposure data for new equipment, processes, or green technologies.
- • Assess risks at remediation or brownfield worksites and document findings.
- • Evaluate safety implications of green building practices and recycled materials.
- • Test and balance HVAC systems to verify indoor air quality standards.
- • Train workers on fall protection, confined space, and ventilation practices.
- • Verify availability and proper use of safety devices, respirators, and hearing protection.
- • Assess and document work refusals or hazard reports and escalate as needed.
- • Recommend corrective actions based on sampling and exposure analyses.
- • Assist with occupational health surveillance and exposure-related illness studies.
- • Inspect fire suppression and portable extinguishing systems for readiness.
- • Provide onsite safety consultation to supervisors and project teams.
