Description
Analyze, coordinate, and optimize distribution operations to ensure accurate, on-time, and cost-effective fulfillment and delivery. Oversee inventory allocation, warehouse flow, carrier/3PL performance, routing, and compliance from receipt through shipment and returns.
- • Maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and 3PL partners involved in distribution.
- • Assess customer fulfillment requirements and ensure service levels are met.
- • Direct inventory allocation, order releasing, and replenishment across facilities.
- • Coordinate with sales, customer service, procurement, and transportation to meet delivery commitments and resolve constraints.
- • Safeguard inventory and ensure compliance with handling, labeling, and security requirements.
- • Review distribution KPIs and performance against targets, benchmarks, and SLAs; drive corrective actions.
- • Use project plans, schedules, and RACI matrices to manage distribution initiatives.
- • Lead distribution teams, set priorities, assign work, and ensure labor and equipment availability.
- • Report distribution plans, progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.
- • Analyze order, inventory, and carrier data to improve pick, pack, and ship performance.
- • Present distribution solutions, routing changes, and process improvements to customers and management.
- • Develop proposals with cost, savings, and service impact estimates for distribution projects.
- • Plan and execute warehouse operations improvements, including slotting, MHE recommendations, and returns processing.
- • Provide project management and data analysis for network changes, system upgrades, and peak season plans.
- • Evaluate process and layout changes and assess service, quality, and cost impacts.
- • Create and maintain SOPs and training for distribution processes and WMS/TMS use.
- • Stay current on WMS, TMS, barcode/RFID, and automation; deploy tools to improve accuracy and speed.
- • Optimize routing, mode selection, and warehouse flow to reduce cost and cycle time.
- • Manage carrier and 3PL performance, contracts, and SLAs.
- • Manage inventory health, accuracy, turns, and obsolescence; coordinate sample and promotional shipments.
- • Conduct distribution cost analyses, rate benchmarking, and make/buy studies.
- • Hire, train, and coach distribution staff; oversee facility, safety, and regulatory compliance.
