Analyze and assess credit risk for commercial, real estate, and consumer loans by verifying financial information and modeling repayment capacity to support sound credit decisions. Prepare credit memos, ensure documentation and regulatory compliance, and monitor portfolio performance while collaborating with underwriters, relationship managers, and operations.
  • • Evaluate loan applications and prepare recommendations for approval or decline within policy; escalate exceptions to credit leadership.
  • • Meet with applicants and relationship managers to obtain information and clarify documentation needs.
  • • Analyze applicants' financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and collateral valuations to assess feasibility.
  • • Build cash flow, repayment, and debt service coverage models and compute payment schedules.
  • • Obtain and compile borrower and guarantor financials, KYC, and other required data.
  • • Prepare credit memos and loan committee packages summarizing risk, mitigants, and terms.
  • • Review loan agreements, term sheets, and collateral documents for completeness and policy compliance.
  • • Maintain, review, and update credit and loan files and data in LOS and portfolio systems.
  • • Submit recommendations and analyses to underwriting and credit committee for decision.
  • • Stay current on credit policies, regulations, and lending products to inform analysis.
  • • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding loan status, conditions, and required documents.
  • • Assess borrower business plans, projections, and industry position to validate repayment capacity.
  • • Support relationship managers with analytical insights on pricing, structure, and risk.
  • • Recommend process and policy improvements based on portfolio trends and exception tracking.
  • • Analyze portfolio and market data to identify concentration, exposure, and emerging risks.
  • • Prepare delinquency, watchlist, and risk migration reports and dashboards.
  • • Validate eligibility and prepare analyses for government-guaranteed or specialized lending programs.
  • • Document and track collection and remediation strategies recommended to servicing or collections teams.
  • • Calculate leverage, liquidity, borrowing capacity, and payoff scenarios for borrowers.
  • • Maintain and recategorize account records as status changes, including risk ratings and covenant tracking.
  • • Conduct industry, market, and competitor research to benchmark borrower performance and risks.
  • • Analyze impaired accounts to support charge-off, allowance, and recovery recommendations.
  • • Verify fees, interest accruals, and closing statements for accuracy.
  • • Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and model validations with required data and reports.
  • • Use financial spreading software and data tools to ensure data quality and analysis consistency.
  • • Perform stress testing and sensitivity analysis on borrower cash flows and collateral values.
  • • Partner with underwriters, appraisers, legal, and operations to resolve credit and documentation issues.
  • • Contact applicants, accountants, or creditors to resolve questions and obtain missing information.
  • • Model restructuring, extension, and workout options and present recommendations.
  • • Identify early warning signs and recommend covenants, collateral, or other risk mitigants.
  • • Propose payment structures, amortization, and covenants aligned with risk and policy.
  • • Ensure credit files meet regulatory and policy requirements, including ECOA and BSA/AML documentation standards.
