Description
Keep pools, spas, and surrounding areas clean, safe, and in proper working order. Perform heavy and routine cleaning, test and balance water chemistry, remove debris, and sanitize surfaces. Duties may include maintaining and troubleshooting filtration and heating systems, performing minor repairs, documenting service, and preparing pools for seasonal opening or closing.
- • Pressure-wash decks or tile when required.
- • Check and clean pool covers; install or remove as needed.
- • Test pool and spa water for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, stabilizer, and salt levels.
- • Adjust and dose chemicals to balance water; perform shock treatments as needed.
- • Skim surfaces and remove debris from water, baskets, and drains.
- • Vacuum pool floors; brush walls, steps, and tile lines to remove algae and scale.
- • Clean, backwash, and recharge filters; rinse cartridges or media.
- • Inspect pumps, heaters, chlorinators, and controllers; make minor adjustments or repairs.
- • Empty skimmer and pump baskets; clear clogged lines.
- • Maintain proper water level and circulation; prime and start equipment.
- • Clean and sanitize pool decks, coping, ladders, and handrails.
- • Open and winterize pools for seasonal use, including start-up and shutdown procedures.
- • Monitor and log readings, services performed, and chemicals used.
- • Notify clients or managers of needed major repairs or equipment replacements.
- • Requisition and restock chemicals, test kits, and maintenance supplies.
- • Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals and operating power equipment.
- • Set up, arrange, or remove pool furniture and equipment for events or maintenance.
- • Inspect safety features, drains, grates, and signage for compliance and hazards.
- • Respond to algae blooms, contamination, or cloudy water; remediate per protocols.
- • Drive service vehicles to job sites and transport equipment.
