Description
Specialize in cleaning, maintaining, and restoring hard-surface floors and carpets in commercial facilities. Perform advanced floor care, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, finishing, burnishing, and carpet extraction, using appropriate chemicals and power equipment. Duties include maintaining floor-care equipment and supplies, setting safety signage and barriers, moving furniture to access floor surfaces, and reporting floor damage or hazards.
  • • Sweep, dust-mop, and vacuum floors to remove soil and debris.
  • • Machine-scrub hard floors with auto-scrubbers or swing machines.
  • • Strip, seal, finish, and burnish VCT, LVT, terrazzo, concrete, or other hard-surface floors.
  • • Top-scrub and recoat floors as scheduled.
  • • Shampoo, steam-clean, or extract carpets and rugs; perform spot and stain removal.
  • • Clean grout lines, edges, and baseboards to maintain appearance.
  • • Follow procedures for chemical dilution and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
  • • Mix cleaning solutions according to specifications and SDS guidelines.
  • • Set and maintain wet-floor signs, cones, and barriers to ensure safety.
  • • Move and protect furniture and equipment to access floor areas; return items to place.
  • • Maintain and clean pads, brushes, squeegees, and filters on floor machines and vacuums.
  • • Inspect floors for damage, trip hazards, or finish failure and notify management of needed repairs.
  • • Requisition floor-care supplies, finishes, pads, and equipment.
  • • Schedule and document floor-care projects and daily maintenance tasks.
  • • Clean, rotate, and stage entry mats to control soil and moisture.
  • • Perform minor repairs or adjustments on floor-care equipment, cords, and hoses.
  • • Clean and sanitize restroom and kitchen floors, drains, and grout.
  • • Monitor safety during after-hours work, locking areas and checking equipment as required.
  • • Drive company vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, or supplies to job sites.
