Grade, sort, and classify raw nuts by size, weight, color, moisture, and condition to meet quality and safety standards.
  • • Grade and sort nuts by size, color, shell integrity, kernel quality, and moisture for proper processing and sale.
  • • Remove defective nuts and foreign matter (hulls, shells, stones) and route acceptable product to containers or conveyors.
  • • Weigh nuts or estimate weight visually/by feel; use sieves or gauges to confirm size grades.
  • • Place graded nuts in designated containers and mark grades, varieties, and lot information.
  • • Record grades, identification numbers, and quantities on tags or in digital logs for shipping, receiving, or sales.
