Description
Evaluate and classify grain by moisture, test weight, kernel condition, and foreign material; assign grades and direct proper handling and storage.
- • Grade and sort grain by moisture, test weight, kernel damage/size, color, protein, and foreign material per standards.
- • Collect, weigh, and test representative samples with probes, moisture meters, dockage testers, sieves, and scales.
- • Reject infested or contaminated lots and remove foreign material; direct acceptable grain to proper bins or containers.
- • Segregate grain by grade and clearly label bins, loads, or containers.
- • Record grades, moisture, dockage, and lot IDs on certificates, scale tickets, and shipping/receiving records.
