Grade, sort, and classify fresh fruit by size, weight, color, ripeness, and condition for packing and distribution.
  • • Grade and sort fruit by color, variety, size, firmness, ripeness, appearance, aroma, and overall quality.
  • • Remove bruised, decayed, or misshapen fruit and any foreign matter; place acceptable fruit in containers for packing or processing.
  • • Weigh fruit or estimate weight by sight or feel.
  • • Place fruit in containers according to grade and mark the grade on containers.
  • • Record grade, lot, or identification numbers on tags and on shipping, receiving, or sales documents.
