Description
Directly supervise and coordinate branch rental operations and staff, overseeing reservations, checkouts/returns, fleet availability, contracts, and customer service, with duties in budgeting, pricing, purchasing, compliance, and personnel management.
- • Provide customer service by greeting renters, handling reservations, and resolving inquiries and complaints.
- • Monitor rental operations to ensure timely service, equipment/vehicle quality, and policy compliance.
- • Assign staff to counter, checkout, return, cleaning, and maintenance duties.
- • Supervise employees processing contracts, inspections, billing, and cash reconciliation.
- • Track fleet/equipment availability and arrange procurement or transfers to meet demand.
- • Maintain records of reservations, contracts, invoices, vendor purchases, and requisitions.
- • Enforce safety, security, insurance, and regulatory procedures.
- • Inspect returned vehicles/equipment to assess condition, document damages, and initiate repairs or claims.
- • Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate rental staff; coach, promote, or discipline as needed.
- • Assist during peak periods with counter service, contract processing, and vehicle/equipment preparation.
- • Establish and implement rental policies, service standards, and operating procedures.
- • Train staff on complex rentals, coverage options, and escalation procedures.
- • Set rental rates, fees, and promotions according to profitability and market conditions.
- • Forecast demand and adjust fleet mix, inventory levels, and staffing.
- • Ensure vehicles/equipment are prepped, fueled/serviced, accurately described, and ready for rental.
- • Plan and manage staff schedules, timekeeping, and shift coverage.
- • Analyze utilization, revenue, expenses, and maintenance data to prepare reports and forecasts.
- • Plan local marketing, partnerships, and sales promotions to drive rentals.
- • Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, expand services, and grow market share.
- • Implement credit, deposit, and identification verification procedures to manage risk.
- • Manage budgets and authorize expenditures, refunds, damage charges, and vendor payments.
