Description
Oversee daily operations of a grocery store, directing and coordinating sales, service, and merchandising across all departments. Manage staffing, purchasing, budgeting, inventory, and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards while ensuring excellent customer service and profitable results.
  • • Greet customers, assist with needs, and resolve complaints.
  • • Monitor sales, service, and product quality to ensure a superior shopping experience.
  • • Assign associates to departments, shifts, and specific duties.
  • • Supervise cashiering, stocking, receiving, and service counters.
  • • Manage inventory for perishable and center-store items; order to target levels.
  • • Maintain records of purchases, sales, shrink, and requisitions.
  • • Enforce food safety, sanitation, OSHA, alcohol/tobacco, and security rules.
  • • Inspect deliveries and storage areas for temperature, quality, and damage.
  • • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate store staff.

  • • Train staff on service standards and handling complex transactions (EBT/WIC, returns).
  • • Set and maintain prices; ensure scan accuracy and ad compliance.
  • • Forecast demand by season and promotions to determine assortments and order quantities.
  • • Audit merchandising, planograms, and signage for accuracy and appeal.
  • • Create weekly labor schedules and approve timecards.
  • • Analyze sales, margin, and shrink; prepare reports and action plans.
  • • Plan and execute weekly ads, in-store promotions, and sampling events.
  • • Collaborate with district and corporate teams to drive sales and implement initiatives.
  • • Manage budgets; authorize invoices, credits, and merchandise returns.
  • • Oversee store maintenance, safety walks, and emergency response procedures.
