Description
Supervise and coordinate crews delivering residential and commercial lawn care services, including mowing, edging, fertilization, weed and pest control, aeration, overseeding, and irrigation checks. Review work orders and contracts to determine labor, equipment, and material needs; respond to customer inquiries; prepare estimates and manage job budgets; and enforce safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • • Establish and enforce lawn care operating procedures, quality standards, and safety practices.
  • • Inspect completed lawns for cut quality, edging, cleanup, and treatment results.
  • • Direct crews performing mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, aeration, and overseeding.
  • • Schedule daily routes based on priorities, crew and equipment availability, and weather.
  • • Plan and oversee fertilization, weed control, and turf pest and disease treatments.
  • • Monitor jobs to ensure instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and routes stay on time.
  • • Train workers in mower and trimmer operation, calibration of spreaders and sprayers, and turf care.
  • • Provide hands-on assistance to crews to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • • Maintain and inventory tools, equipment, seed, fertilizers, chemicals, and PPE.
  • • Coordinate activities with sales, dispatch, irrigation technicians, and shop mechanics.
  • • Recruit, onboard, evaluate, and discipline staff as needed.
  • • Mix and apply or supervise application of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides in compliance with labels and regulations.
  • • Review contracts and service tickets to determine staffing, equipment, and material requirements.
  • • Maintain records, including routes, timesheets, training logs, and chemical application reports.
  • • Prepare work and personnel reports and track job costs and budgets.
  • • Order corrective work and adjust procedures when service issues or callbacks occur.
  • • Diagnose lawn weeds, pests, nutrient deficiencies, and diseases and prescribe treatments.
  • • Investigate customer complaints and determine appropriate responses or remedies.
  • • Oversee maintenance and minor repair of mowers, trimmers, blowers, and spray equipment.
  • • Supervise sod installation, topdressing, and turf repairs when required.
  • • Perform administrative tasks such as approving leave and processing payroll time.
  • • Recommend changes in equipment, routing, or methods to increase crew efficiency.
  • • Collaborate with managers or agronomists to plan seasonal lawn programs and schedules.
  • • Negotiate service scope, frequencies, and fees with customers or property managers.
  • • Answer customer inquiries regarding methods, materials, service options, and price ranges.
  • • Prepare service estimates based on labor, materials, and machine costs and manage job budgets.
  • • Visit customer properties to assess turf conditions and soil moisture and document findings.
  • • Conduct basic irrigation checks, set controller schedules, and coordinate repairs with technicians.
  • • Lead safety meetings, ensure PPE use, and comply with pesticide and environmental regulations.
  • • Utilize CRM, routing, or GPS tools to dispatch crews and track service completion.
