Landscape Supervisor

Directly supervise and coordinate landscape crews and projects to deliver safe, high-quality installation and maintenance. Plan labor, equipment, and schedules; review scopes and contracts; respond to client inquiries; and prepare estimates and project budgets.
- • Establish and enforce operating procedures and safety standards for landscape work.
- • Inspect completed landscape work to ensure quality, specifications, and contract compliance.
- • Direct crews performing planting, turf care, hardscape, and tree or shrub pruning.
- • Schedule crews and equipment based on priorities, site access, and weather.
- • Oversee planting and maintenance, including mulching, fertilizing, irrigation, mowing, and pruning.
- • Monitor projects to ensure instructions are followed and deadlines and budgets are met.
- • Train staff in planting, pruning, hardscape finishing, equipment use, and turf care.
- • Assist crews as needed to meet quality and schedule goals.
- • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials and ensure readiness.
- • Coordinate activities with other supervisors, subcontractors, and site stakeholders.
- • Hire, onboard, and evaluate staff, and administer coaching or discipline as needed.
- • Direct or perform safe mixing and application of fertilizers and pesticides per regulations.
- • Review work orders and contracts to determine staffing, equipment, and service needs.
- • Maintain required project, safety, and personnel records.
- • Prepare work activity and personnel reports.
- • Order corrective actions and recommend process improvements when issues arise.
- • Identify plant pests or diseases and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- • Investigate and resolve work-related complaints or site issues.
- • Oversee maintenance and minor repair of landscape tools and motorized equipment.
- • Supervise installation and maintenance of landscaped areas, including grading, sod, beds, and seasonal tasks such as snow removal where applicable.
- • Perform administrative tasks such as approving time sheets and time-off requests.
- • Recommend changes in methods, staffing, or equipment to improve crew efficiency.
- • Collaborate with managers or landscape architects to plan layouts, phases, and schedules.
- • Communicate with customers to scope work and negotiate pricing and change orders.
- • Answer client inquiries regarding methods, materials, and pricing.
- • Prepare estimates from labor, material, and equipment costs and manage job budgets.
- • Conduct site walks to assess soil, irrigation, plant health, and safety conditions.
- • Design or oversee installation and tuning of irrigation systems, calculating coverage and pressure needs.
- • Ensure compliance with environmental, pesticide, and company safety regulations.
