Description
Manage landscape operations across assigned properties, directing crews and resources to deliver safe, high-quality maintenance and enhancement services. Oversee client relations, contracts, estimates, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate equipment, materials, irrigation, and pest management to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • • Establish and enforce operating procedures, safety policies, and quality standards.
  • • Inspect sites and completed work for compliance with specifications and contracts.
  • • Lead and coordinate crews performing mowing, pruning, planting, and turf care.
  • • Plan daily and seasonal schedules based on priorities, resources, and weather.
  • • Oversee planting and maintenance programs, including mulching, fertilizing, watering, and pruning.
  • • Monitor projects to ensure instructions are followed and deadlines and budgets are met.
  • • Recruit, train, and coach staff on horticultural practices, equipment use, and turf care.
  • • Provide hands-on support to crews when needed to meet deadlines or resolve issues.
  • • Manage inventory and procurement of tools, equipment, plants, and materials.
  • • Coordinate with other departments, vendors, and subcontractors to align activities.
  • • Conduct performance reviews, manage staffing levels, and take corrective action when required.
  • • Ensure compliant mixing and application of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides; maintain licenses and records.
  • • Review contracts and scopes to determine labor, equipment, and service requirements.
  • • Maintain operational records, including work logs, budgets, payroll, and personnel files.
  • • Initiate corrective work orders and implement process improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • • Diagnose pest, disease, and irrigation issues and direct appropriate treatments or repairs.
  • • Investigate customer or employee complaints and resolve or escalate as appropriate.
  • • Oversee maintenance and safe operation of vehicles, power tools, and irrigation systems.
  • • Manage snow and ice operations and other seasonal services as needed.
  • • Approve timesheets, leave requests, and vendor invoices.
  • • Recommend and implement changes in methods, staffing, or equipment to improve efficiency.
  • • Collaborate with clients, property managers, and landscape architects on maintenance plans and enhancements.
  • • Prepare estimates, proposals, and pricing; negotiate service agreements and change orders.
  • • Respond to client inquiries regarding methods, materials, schedules, and pricing.
  • • Conduct regular site walks to assess plant health, soil conditions, and irrigation performance.
  • • Design or supervise installation and auditing of irrigation systems, including calculating coverage and water pressure.
  • • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • • Track job costs and profitability and report results to leadership.
