Description
Directly supervise and coordinate plumbers and apprentices installing, repairing, and maintaining water, waste, gas, and hydronic systems, ensuring code compliance, safety, quality, schedule, and budget on construction and service projects.
  • • Read plumbing plans, isometrics, specifications, and shop drawings to plan installations and procedures.
  • • Estimate labor, materials, fixtures, and equipment for plumbing scopes and change orders.
  • • Schedule, assign, and oversee daily activities of plumbers and apprentices.
  • • Coordinate plumbing work with general contractors, other trades, building operations, and inspectors.
  • • Plan and manage shutdowns, tie-ins, flushing, disinfection, and pressure tests to minimize disruptions.
  • • Order and track pipe, valves, fittings, fixtures, supports, and consumables.
  • • Lay out and mark pipe runs, hangers, penetrations, and fixture locations using measuring tools or lasers.
  • • Maintain records: timesheets, deliveries, inspections, tests, and as-built updates.
  • • Provide hands-on assistance with rough-in, finish work, soldering/brazing, threading, and equipment setting.
  • • Train crew in plumbing methods, tool use, codes, permits, and safety (PPE, LOTO, hot work, confined space).
  • • Inspect work in progress to verify code compliance, quality, and adherence to drawings and specifications.
  • • Troubleshoot leaks, blockages, and pressure or temperature issues, and resolve coordination or schedule conflicts.
  • • Arrange maintenance and repair of tools and equipment, such as threaders, drain machines, and jetters.
  • • Recommend or execute personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, evaluations, and discipline.
  • • Enforce safety rules and housekeeping; lead toolbox talks and hazard assessments.
