Description
Directly supervise and coordinate carpentry crews performing framing, formwork, and finish work to meet plans, codes, quality, schedule, and safety standards.
- • Read blueprints and shop drawings to plan framing and finish carpentry work.
- • Estimate lumber, sheet goods, hardware, and crew hours for carpentry scopes.
- • Schedule, supervise, and coordinate activities of carpenters and helpers.
- • Confer with project managers, architects, and other trades to resolve carpentry issues.
- • Sequence carpentry tasks with other project activities to maintain schedule.
- • Order lumber, millwork, fasteners, adhesives, and related supplies.
- • Lay out walls, openings, casework, and fixtures using levels, lasers, and measuring tools.
- • Record timesheets, deliveries, production quantities, and change orders.
- • Assign framing, formwork, installation, or trim tasks based on skills and job needs.
- • Assist crews with complex installations or finish work using hand and power tools.
- • Train workers in carpentry techniques, tool use, safety practices, and company policies.
- • Identify quality, productivity, or manpower issues and implement corrective actions.
- • Arrange maintenance or repairs for saws, nailers, compressors, and other equipment.
- • Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, transfers, or promotions.
- • Inspect carpentry work, tools, and work areas for compliance with plans, codes, and safety.
