Description
Directly supervise and coordinate concrete crews performing formwork, reinforcement, placement, finishing, and curing to meet plans, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
- • Read structural drawings, mix designs, and shop drawings to plan formwork, reinforcement, and pour sequences.
- • Estimate concrete volumes, rebar, formwork, embeds, and crew needs for each pour.
- • Schedule, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of concrete crews and subcontractors.
- • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and ready-mix suppliers to resolve issues and align schedules.
- • Sequence concrete operations with site prep, MEP rough-ins, and steel/framers to avoid conflicts.
- • Order ready-mix, admixtures, reinforcing steel, formwork materials, embeds, and finishing supplies.
- • Lay out forms, elevations, and control lines; set grades and anchor locations using levels and lasers.
- • Maintain pour logs, test results, delivery tickets, yields, and crew timecards.
- • Assign crews to formwork, placement, vibrating, finishing, and curing based on skills and pour needs.
- • Assist crews with forming, placement, screeding, bull floating, edging, troweling, and saw cutting as needed.
- • Train crews on formwork systems, rebar tying, equipment use, finishing techniques, and OSHA safety practices.
- • Troubleshoot mix, placement, or finishing issues and adjust methods, manpower, or equipment to improve productivity and quality.
- • Arrange maintenance and repairs for vibrators, power trowels, screeds, saws, and formwork hardware.
- • Recommend hiring, promotions, discipline, and crew assignments.
- • Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and finished surfaces; verify slump and air tests and enforce site safety.
