Description
Diagnose, maintain, repair, and overhaul agricultural tractors and related systems, including engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical, and attachments, in the shop or in the field.
  • • Record details of repairs, labor time, and parts used.
  • • Reassemble tractors and systems after repair; test operation and make adjustments as needed.
  • • Maintain, repair, and overhaul tractors, loaders, and tractor-mounted attachments.
  • • Examine and listen to tractors, read diagnostic codes and reports, and consult operators to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
  • • Dismantle defective tractor components for repair using hand and power tools.
  • • Drive a service truck to perform on-site tractor diagnostics and repairs.
  • • Fabricate new metal parts or brackets using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools.
  • • Prepare estimates and calculate bills based on diagnostics, labor time, and parts.
  • • Install, repair, and calibrate tractor hydraulics, PTOs, and three-point hitches.
  • • Straighten or replace bent tractor sheet metal and panels.
  • • Test and replace electrical and electronic components and wiring using meters, scan tools, and soldering equipment.
  • • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
  • • Clean and lubricate parts and service chassis, driveline, and hydraulic systems.
  • • Tune, rebuild, or overhaul diesel engines, fuel systems, and aftertreatment systems.
