Description
Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul dairy milking and cooling equipment, including parlors, robots, vacuum systems, pumps, bulk tanks, compressors, and CIP controls, on farms and in shops.
- • Record details of repairs made and parts used.
- • Reassemble dairy equipment after repair; test operation and adjust vacuum, pulsation, and temperatures.
- • Maintain, repair, and overhaul milking systems, bulk tanks, compressors, pumps, and CIP/sanitation systems.
- • Inspect and listen to equipment; review logs; confer with farmers to diagnose milking and cooling issues.
- • Dismantle pumps, clusters, valves, and gearboxes for repair using hand and power tools.
- • Test and replace electrical components, sensors, and wiring on parlors, robots, and tank controls.
- • Repair or replace parts; cut, weld, and fit stainless sanitary piping and fittings.
- • Clean, sanitize, and lubricate mechanical assemblies to dairy standards.
- • Service and overhaul electric motors, vacuum systems, milk pumps, and compressors.
- • Drive service trucks to farms for on-site repair and installation.
- • Fabricate brackets and mounts; drill, thread, and bend tubing as needed.
- • Calculate bills based on repairs completed, labor time, and parts used.
- • Install and repair milking parlors, pipeline systems, bulk tanks, CIP plumbing, and vacuum lines.
- • Repair or replace damaged stainless panels, guards, and enclosures.
