Description
Diagnose, install, adjust, repair, and overhaul agricultural irrigation systems and equipment, including pumps, piping, center pivots, drip and sprinkler components, valves, controllers, and backflow devices.
- • Record service details, water tests, and parts used.
- • Reassemble pumps, valves, and controllers after repair; test pressure/flow and adjust.
- • Maintain, repair, and overhaul irrigation pumps, piping, center pivots, drip and sprinkler systems.
- • Inspect equipment, perform leak, pressure, and flow tests, and confer with customers to diagnose faults.
- • Dismantle pumps, valves, gearboxes, and sprinklers for repair using hand and power tools.
- • Test and replace electrical components, solenoids, sensors, and wiring with meters and hand tools.
- • Repair or replace damaged pipe, fittings, manifolds, nozzles, and backflow assemblies.
- • Clean and lubricate pumps, gearboxes, pivot joints, and bearings.
- • Overhaul and tune pump engines and electric motors; align couplings and belts.
- • Drive service trucks to field sites and haul tools, pipe, and equipment for on-site repairs.
- • Fabricate or modify brackets, manifolds, and pipe supports using cutting, threading, fusion, and welding tools.
- • Install, program, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and pivot panels.
- • Flush and service filters and strainers; winterize and start up systems seasonally.
- • Calculate invoices based on labor time, materials, and services performed.
