Description
Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul combine harvesters and headers, including engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, threshing and separation systems, electrical components, and precision ag; perform pre-season setup and in-season field repairs.
  • • Record details of repairs made and parts used.
  • • Reassemble combines and headers after repair; test operation and make adjustments.
  • • Maintain, repair, and overhaul combine harvesters, headers, and grain handling systems.
  • • Diagnose faults by inspecting and listening to machines, reviewing diagnostic codes, and conferring with operators.
  • • Dismantle defective assemblies for repair using hand and power tools.
  • • Test and replace electrical components, sensors, CAN wiring, and controllers with meters and diagnostic software.
  • • Repair or replace worn mechanical, hydraulic, and driveline parts using hand tools, welding equipment, lathes, grinders, or saws.
  • • Clean and lubricate chains, bearings, and moving parts.
  • • Service, tune, or overhaul diesel engines, cooling, and fuel systems.
  • • Drive a service truck to perform on-site field repairs during harvest.
  • • Fabricate or straighten sheet metal, guards, and brackets.
  • • Prepare estimates and invoices based on recorded labor time and parts.
  • • Install, calibrate, and repair precision ag systems, yield monitors, and GPS/auto-steer.
  • • Set up and adjust headers, concaves, sieves, belts, chains, and augers for crop conditions.
