Description
Determine eligibility for unemployment insurance and workforce development services, process claims and enrollments, deliver career and reemployment support, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- • Answer job seekers' and employers' questions about unemployment insurance, training, and job-service procedures.
- • Interview claimants and participants at set intervals to certify continuing eligibility for benefits and services.
- • Explain eligibility rules, application steps, payment options, work-search requirements, and appeal rights.
- • Initiate actions to approve, adjust, deny, or end benefits or services, and issue referrals to partner agencies.
- • Collect and verify identity, employment, and income data to determine eligibility.
- • Conduct fact-finding interviews on claims and program enrollments to resolve issues.
- • Contact employers, training providers, and other sources to verify separation reasons, wages, and participation.
- • Maintain case files in workforce systems and prepare required reports.
- • Schedule adjudication or reemployment interviews to address eligibility or work-search concerns.
- • Assist clients with applications for UI, job referrals, training scholarships, supportive services, and veteran services.
- • Match clients to job openings, hiring events, and workshops; refer to career counselors or partner programs.
- • Share pertinent case information with career coaches, veterans' reps, and partner staff under privacy rules.
- • Calculate and authorize UI benefits, training vouchers, and supportive service payments within guidelines.
- • Monitor claim status, payments, and participation to ensure ongoing eligibility and timely disbursements.
- • Guide clients in creating resumes, registering in job systems, and completing claims and program paperwork.
- • Identify and investigate potential fraud, overpayments, and work-search noncompliance; document findings.
- • Conduct periodic eligibility reviews, worksite or training provider visits, and quality checks to ensure compliance.
