Description
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, motors, and related equipment in industrial or commercial facilities.
- • Measure voltage, current, resistance, insulation, frequency, and power quality using multimeters, clamp meters, meggers, and analyzers.
- • Record work performed, parts used, test results, and labor time in logs or CMMS.
- • Assemble, wire, and test control panels, junction boxes, and switchgear per schematics.
- • Maintain stock of electrical parts, consumables, and tools.
- • Repair or replace breakers, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, fuses, and terminal blocks.
- • Install and rewire circuits, conduits, cable trays, and terminations to code.
- • Inspect wiring, connections, grounding, relays, and protective devices following diagrams and standards.
- • Use drawings, service manuals, and datasheets to plan and perform repairs.
- • Inspect and test equipment to locate faults; interpret work orders and wiring diagrams to define repairs.
- • Solder, crimp, and heat-shrink conductors to ensure reliable terminations and insulation.
- • Install, align, and commission motors, VFDs, and starters; verify phase rotation and load balance.
- • Lubricate and adjust electromechanical equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
- • Remove and replace damaged wires, connectors, and cable assemblies.
- • Disassemble equipment and enclosures to access components for service.
- • Lift and position panels, motors, or equipment using hoists or by signaling crane operators.
- • Make and repair electrical connections using approved splices and lugs.
- • Calibrate and verify sensors, transmitters, and instrumentation.
- • Adjust belts, couplings, and limit switches to meet specifications.
- • Clean terminals, enclosures, and bus bars; remove corrosion and contaminants safely.
- • Label and dress wiring harnesses; apply cable management and protective sleeving.
- • Perform insulation resistance, continuity, and ground tests; document results.
- • Cut, form, and install insulating materials, grommets, and wire sleeving to protect conductors.
- • Configure equipment via HMIs or software to set parameters and verify operation.
- • Verify alignments, torque lugs to specifications, and check clearances using gauges and torque tools.
- • Monitor equipment temperature and vibration; use infrared devices to detect overheating.
- • Maintain and test UPS and battery systems; replace or recharge batteries as needed.
- • Operate and maintain battery chargers and related equipment safely.
- • Update as-built drawings and redlines after modifications.
- • Follow lockout/tagout, arc flash, and NEC requirements to ensure safety and compliance.
- • Bend conduit and perform cable pulls using proper techniques and tools.
- • Support commissioning, startup, and handover by executing checklists and documenting punch items.
