Coordinate and deliver disability support services to ensure equal access to academic programs; advise students with disabilities, determine eligibility and reasonable accommodations, and collaborate with faculty and campus partners to implement accessible learning, technology, and facilities in compliance with ADA and Section 504.
  • • Maintain confidential disability and accommodation records in compliance with FERPA, ADA, and campus policy.
  • • Provide crisis intervention and urgent accommodation support during emergencies.
  • • Coach students in self-advocacy, study strategies, and persistence related to disability management.
  • • Provide information on accommodation processes, disability rights, assistive technologies, and resources.
  • • Deliver orientations and workshops on accessibility, universal design, and self-advocacy.
  • • Conduct follow-ups to review accommodation effectiveness and adjust plans.
  • • Prepare compliance and program reports on utilization, outcomes, and budgets.
  • • Plan and conduct disability-orientation and transition programs.
  • • Assess functional limitations, determine reasonable accommodations, and refer to rehab, financial aid, or community services.
  • • Teach job search strategies addressing disability disclosure, accommodations, and workplace rights.
  • • Present to faculty, staff, and community partners about disability services and inclusive practices.
  • • Monitor accessibility standards and assistive tech trends to inform services.
  • • Guide faculty and staff on implementing accommodations and supporting academic and career goals.
  • • Review disability documentation and academic requirements to align accommodations with programs and licensure standards.
  • • Refer students to tutoring, advising, and accessible course options that fit strengths and access needs.
  • • Coordinate testing accommodations, note-taking, interpreters/CART, captioning, and alternative formats.
  • • Arrange assistive technology loans, training, and access to facilities, housing, and transportation.
  • • Interview students to document disability history, functional impacts, and access barriers.
  • • Establish and supervise peer mentoring, note-taking, and tutoring supports.
  • • Connect students with inclusive employers, vocational rehabilitation, and career services for placements with accommodations.
  • • Sponsor disability awareness events, student groups, and accessibility initiatives.
  • • Collaborate with faculty, advisors, housing, and families (as permitted) to resolve accommodation concerns.
  • • Evaluate functional limitations via documentation and interviews to create individualized accommodation plans.
  • • Identify safety or mental health concerns and connect students to counseling, Title IX, or community support.
  • • Advise on course loads, scheduling, and program selection with accommodation considerations.
  • • Collaborate on accessible course design, procurement of accessible materials, and testing schedules.
  • • Observe classrooms and environments to identify barriers and recommend solutions.
  • • Attend trainings and conferences; serve on accessibility and compliance committees.
  • • Plan and promote disability-inclusive career events and employer panels.
  • • Develop and enforce procedures for accommodations, service animals, testing integrity, and grievances.
  • • Build partnerships with employers and agencies to expand accessible experiential learning.
  • • Support recruitment and enrollment with accessible admissions and outreach.
  • • Recruit, schedule, and supervise interpreters, captioners, proctors, and student employees; train faculty and staff.
  • • Provide individual and group support to address academic and social barriers related to disability.
  • • Refer students to counseling, medical providers, disability-specific services, and community resources.
