Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate district-wide student services, including counseling, health, attendance, discipline, registration, and extracurricular programs, to support student safety, well-being, engagement, and success in K-12 schools.
- • Review and approve student support programs, or recommend modifications, submitting proposals for leadership or board approval as needed.
- • Oversee preparation and maintenance of attendance, discipline, health, counseling, and student records in compliance with FERPA and state rules.
- • Confer with parents, students, and staff to address behavior, attendance, wellness, and learning support needs.
- • Prepare and manage student services budgets and grants, and monitor expenditures.
- • Coordinate use of school facilities for student activities, family events, and support services.
- • Supervise counseling, social work, nursing, deans, registrars, and other student services staff.
- • Provide crisis intervention and threat assessment leadership, and coordinate response with school and community partners.

- • Monitor counseling case management and staff practices to ensure quality and consistency.
- • Lead district-wide programs such as 504 coordination, McKinney-Vento, foster care, and homebound instruction.
- • Interpret laws and regulations, and design procedures to ensure safety, civil rights, health, and records compliance.
- • Allocate funds for supplies, software, contracted services, and equipment supporting student services, authorizing purchases.
- • Produce handbooks, codes of conduct, family communications, and training materials.
- • Recommend personnel actions and provide coaching for improvement.
- • Collaborate with principals and teachers to integrate SEL and behavioral supports into classrooms and school routines.
- • Analyze climate, attendance, behavior, health, and enrollment data to identify trends and target interventions.
- • Plan service offerings and staffing models, including counselor caseloads, nursing coverage, and registrar services.
- • Plan and deliver professional learning on trauma-informed practices, de-escalation, PBIS, and legal requirements.
- • Coordinate with special education to support IEP implementation and inclusive student services.
- • Liaise with state and local agencies on truancy, health, and safety initiatives and reporting.
- • Coordinate student supports for transportation and meal access in partnership with operations.
- • Oversee extracurricular, after-school, and athletic eligibility processes and student activities governance.
- • Mentor and support site-based deans, counselors, and student services coordinators.
- • Develop and monitor student support improvement plans using data and stakeholder feedback.
- • Maintain and optimize student information systems and enrollment and withdrawal processes.
