Lead and manage the academic and student affairs of a school, college, or division, overseeing curriculum, faculty, student conduct, budgets, accreditation, and operations to meet institutional standards and goals.
  • • Set academic and student-affairs goals and align policies to achieve them.
  • • Oversee curriculum design, assessment, and course scheduling for the division.
  • • Evaluate programs, teaching methods, and learning outcomes for effectiveness and compliance.
  • • Recruit, appoint, mentor, and evaluate faculty and academic staff.
  • • Lead faculty governance and committees on curriculum, assessment, and student success.
  • • Prepare and manage divisional budgets; allocate funds and authorize purchases.
  • • Review and approve new programs and revisions; route proposals for institutional approval.
  • • Coordinate accreditation reviews and regulatory compliance activities.
  • • Analyze enrollment, performance, and labor-market data to guide planning.
  • • Develop and enforce student conduct, attendance, and academic integrity policies.
  • • Address student concerns and provide guidance on academic and behavioral issues.
  • • Partner with admissions, advising, and counseling to support recruitment and retention.
  • • Plan and deliver professional development for faculty and staff.
  • • Observe instruction and review course materials to promote quality and consistency.
  • • Coordinate classroom assignments, instructional technology, and learning resources.
  • • Build partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations.
  • • Oversee co-curricular and extracurricular programs aligned with academic goals.
  • • Lead grant development and fundraising efforts for academic priorities.
  • • Prepare reports on enrollment, outcomes, accreditation, budgets, and personnel.
  • • Communicate with students, families, alumni, and stakeholders about policies and programs.
  • • Ensure safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environments in coordination with campus services.
  • • Advocate for facility upgrades and renovations to support academic programs.
  • • Oversee special education and accessibility supports within the division.
  • • Collaborate with central administration on policy, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • • Recommend personnel actions, promotions, workload, and professional leave.
  • • Develop and implement data-driven improvement and strategic plans.
  • • Supervise internships, service learning, and school-to-work initiatives.
  • • Manage risk, safety, and compliance for academic programs and activities.
  • • Support faculty scholarship, innovation, and accreditation evidence gathering.
  • • Maintain academic calendars, catalog updates, and policy documentation.
  • • Teach or co-teach courses or seminars as needed.
  • • Mentor and support department chairs and program directors.
  • • Liaise with government, accrediting, and community agencies to inform policy and practice.
  • • Oversee use of divisional facilities and shared spaces for instruction and events.
